The discerning reader will of course realize that the adage "All Things Are Contained Within The Tree *" is not, strictly speaking, entirely accurate. This whole "About" section for instance... is it part of The Tree or not? Is it a meta commentary? An example of Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem, not in Pog form but as a web page?
On the surface it would seem clear that it is not. After all, one would not be reading this if the website about my work with the Tree did not exist - and yet, it is commentary, not a formal part of the body of work. I suppose it could be considered a form of Introduction, but it is an introduction to the website and to me (Hello! How are you? My name is Legion. Pleased to meet you!), rather than an introduction to the subject at hand.
Which of course begs the question as to what actually constitutes, um... constituents? Where does one draw the line? How exactly is a part distinguished from the whole? Is it even possible to do?
And, lest you dismiss this as mere sophistry, arguing over the arrangement of deck chairs whilst Rome burns, let me assure you that it is not. The question of where one thing ends, and another begins - the nature of extension, or duration, of divisibility or the lack thereof, is at the very heart of this work. Is the Universe a unity or a multiplicity? Is there a distinction between mind and matter? Where do I stop and You begin?
Heady stuff. Heady heady stuff.
